Rocky's Deli - Review #13 (Westchester County, New York)

Updated: Nov 29, 2020

Rocky's Deli felt like the perfect spot for my first guest review. Rocky's is a 24 hour deli close to where I grew up in Millwood, Westchester and is a go-to spot for many locals in the surrounding towns. I don't think I've been there when there wasn't a line, whether it's 2 pm or 2 am. The guest reviewer was my good friend, Adam Stern, with a couple special extra special guests joining us. The parm looked great, sitting on the warm sesame-seed coated bread. Upon a little further review the bottom of the bread was a soggy. The chicken was a thick, deep-fried cutlet that looked like it had a good crispiness to it but it lacked the crunch when you actually bit into it. The cutlet was filling but thicker than I prefer on a parm. The cheese was plentiful and spread evenly across the sandwich. The sauce was good but there wasn't enough. There were a few bites that didn't have any sauce at all. The sandwich was hearty and filling but lacked the balance of a great parm - Adam and I both agreed it gets a #middlethumb rating. The chicken cutlet goes better on their hashtag sandwich with chicken cutlet, bacon, egg, cheese and hasbrown.
